The Spirituality of Writing

The longer I do not post a blog, the harder it is to write. And yet not to write adds to my depression. It’s raining outside, a good steady drizzle that matches my mood.  But yesterday, the minister of my church came to me and asked me to do a workshop on the spirituality of writing in August.

My soul rose to the challenge. Writing as healing. Writing for fun. Writing for the simple joy of writing. I had almost forgotten how the act of putting down words on paper (or on a blank screen, for that matter) can lift me up.

So now I have another chore to do. It is exactly what I needed to motivate me out of moping.

If you’re not doing anything else this August and you live in Victoria, come to First-Met on Thursday evenings and we’ll write our way to happiness together.
