Well, why do we put ourselves through such torture if we can’t brag about our accomplishment? This morning I validated the 50,003 words of my latest novel with the working title “House of Crows” though someone suggested “House of Crones” this morning, and I am also considering “House of Widows.” I am open to all possibilities.

The novel is set in Victoria between 1853 and 1898. It tells the story of three generations of pioneer women, their loves and sorrows and how they held each other up. I am truly in love with the the history in this book, and I hope my fellow Victorians will learn a lot while reading it.

Of course, much more needs to be written and revised before it can actually be considered a novel, but I have a big chunk of it to work on now. My thanks to the NaNoWriMo organization for their encouraging emails as I struggled through the dark days of November trying to find enough words.
